JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Front Office Receptionist working under the Clinic Manager and Practice Manager to maintain patient flow and quality during clinic hours. The position works with all physicians, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants to provide comprehensive care in a nonjudgmental manner. The Front Office Receptionist behaves in a professional manner and consistently demonstrates and promotes the core values of CHOICE Health Network.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Good Front Office appearance (the face of the company)

  • Greet/Check patients into the clinic

  • Excellent patient care and assistance with questions

  • Maintain an accurate schedule by adding new appointments and rescheduling canceled appointments

  • Responsible for gathering all necessary information required for the registration of new patients and creating a chart in EMR

  • Update existing patient accounts: personal, demographic, financial, and insurance

  • Collect co-pays/co-insurance, outstanding balances, and payment for cash-based services

  • Filing and retrieving patient records

  • Working with Medical Records

  • Understand and verify patient medical insurance

  • Handle multiple incoming and outgoing calls and direct them appropriately, Manage voicemails and faxes

  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information

  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes

  • Assist with clinic scheduling problem-solving, patient waiting time, and other areas of concern to increase efficiency and quality services

  • Responsible for supporting projects such as but not limited to, Vaccine for Children’s (VFC) Program, CHDP, Medi-Cal site visits, Site Audits, and patient portal

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Reliable and a team player

  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients, staff, peers, supervisors, and non-CHOICE Health Network resources

  • Ability to demonstrate/convey respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff

  • Ability to present to diverse communities/populations at all levels of internal/external organizations

  • Ability to recognize personal biases working within diverse populations

  • Proven track record of and ability to demonstrate ethical and professional standards of behavior

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills

  • Attention to detail, excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Understand and verify patient medical insurance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand for extended periods of time with the ability to push, pull, and reach

  • Occasionally bend, sit, stoop, and stretch

  • Have a full range of motion, including ability to assist patients in sitting and standing

  • Have hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, fax, and medical equipment

  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds


HOURS OF OPERATION:

Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm
