CITY OF LAGUNA BEACH: Recreation Specialist

RATE OF PAY: $18.18 - $21.07 Hourly $24.12 - $29.31 Hourly


POSITION: The City of Laguna Beach is seeking an enthusiastic and team-oriented individual to fill our position of Recreation Specialist. This is an hourly/part-time position. Under direct supervision of the Recreation Coordinatoryou will assist with the organization, scheduling, and coordination of various activities throughout the year. 


When you’ll work: Primarily evenings and weekends, with the possibility of additional daytime hours as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer questions from the public and provide information to individuals and groups regarding program offerings and coordination of services.

  • Manage facility opening and closing procedures. 

  • Maintain record keeping.

  • Assist with various sports programs.

  • Distribute and collect program evaluations.

  • Order, maintain, and inventory program supplies.

  • Perform related work as assigned.


Recreation Specialist candidates will be hired under the classification of Senior Community Services Coordinator Part­ Time for a complete description of the position click here They are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.


REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to effectively and successfully perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying. A typical combination is as follows: 


*Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age


Education: High school diploma or equivalent.  


Experience: Must possess the ability to work compatibly and effectively with others encountered in the performance of duties; must possess the ability to follow oral instructions and adhere to department procedures and safe work practices..


License/Certificate Requirements: Due to the performance of some duties a valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record is required.
