Job Summary:

The Community Outreach Alliance (COA) is a non-profit organization based in San Clemente that offers healthy opportunities and resources for the youth and the community. They provide free food distributions, music outreach programs for youth and young adults, and community partner resources to support the health and well-being of youth, families, military personnel, and seniors. The organization is currently seeking a Social Media Manager to maintain and update their social media platforms, website, and newsletters.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Manage Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts.

  • Create and post original content, write captions, and tag relevant parties.

  • Find and repost relevant content from related organizations, reword captions on reposts,

  • and tag relevant parties.

  • Schedule posts for optimal times, create reels and stories, and use appropriate hashtags

  • and locations.

  • Assist COA Entertainment and Food Connection team leads in managing website content,

  • videos, and social media posts.

  • Attend Board meetings via Zoom every 3rd Tuesday and interact with leadership.

  • Create flyers and invitations for events and marketing collateral using Canva.

  • Occasionally attend community events to take photos.

  • Coordinate with the Board to get updated event photos.

  • Provide outreach and educate the public about our non-profit to bring awareness, ask for

  • donations, recruit new volunteers, and attract new board members.

  • Assist with newsletter updates and send out new newsletters using Mailchimp.

  • Create and manage event registration pages through our website, Eventbrite, San

  • Clemente Times, SC Chamber of Commerce, Facebook Events, and Next-door events.

  • Act as event greeter as needed, set up and tear down after meetings, and assist with

  • event planning.

  • Photograph events for social media and website content.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Openness to learning tech.

  • Ability to understand social media.

  • Willingness to learn new tools and marketing skills.

  • Basic to intermediate understanding of laptops and computers

  • Must have own laptop and internet connection.

  • Interest in giving back to the community.

  • * No violent offenses or offenses against children.


Work Experience Skills Developed:

  • How to manage social media accounts and post content.

  • Develop understanding in organizing and promoting events.

  • Used social media tools and basic software.

  • Improve skills in talking to people and spreading the word about the organization.

  • Gain basic skills in using computer programs.


Hours of Operation:

Schedule open depending on candidates needs.
