Job Title: Supported Living Services
Job Purpose: A support living services (SLS) will be assisting and helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live independently.
Job Summary:
Applicant must have strong communication skills, compassion, empathy, patience, flexibility, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ideally have some experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Job Duties and responsibilities:
Assisting with daily activities like bathing, eating, dressing, and other duties as needed.
Administering medication and coordinating with healthcare providers
Taking people to appointments, social outings, and other activities
Helping people participate in community activities and build social connections
Teaching skills like cooking, budgeting, home and community safety, purchasing etc.
Providing emotional support, encouragement, and motivation
Working with the Person to assist/advocate for their rights and services
Maintaining paperwork like medication logs, assessments of their progress, and daily case notes
Ensuring and maintaining a safe living environment as well as ensuring Individuals are safe when accessing their community
Offering counseling and crisis intervention
Qualifications: High school diploma (or equivalent) or degree
Salary and Benefits: Salary starting at $18.00 - $21.50 depending on experience
Working hours requirements: Flexible & Various shifts available
