DCIS SPECIAL AGENTS
DCIS special agents are entrusted to perform criminal and civil/administrative investigations involving companies, persons and property affiliated with the DoD pursuant to Federal Statues and applicable DoD Directives. Special agents conduct arrests, searches, and seizures in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, pertinent laws, regulations, directives, and court decisions, including the collection and preservation of physical and digital evidence. Special agents analyze allegations, complaints, referrals, and investigations to identify issues, and the type of evidence needed to properly address each matter. Special agents interview witnesses, suspects, and others, and can appear as a witness before Grand Juries, trial courts, or other legal proceedings. The duty of a special agent requires intensive investigations often worked in cooperation with multiple agencies. Special agents prepare comprehensive investigative reports in order to present complex findings in a clear, logical, and impartial manner. Special agents comply with all existing agency policies and procedures, including the use of force policy, pertaining to use of assigned firearms.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• be a U.S. citizen
• be between the ages of 21 and 37 (maximum entry age requirement may be waived for applicants eligible for veteran's preference)
• pass the complete applicant screening process, which includes an interview battery, drug screening, medical examination, and a physical readiness test
• pass an extensive background investigation
• be in excellent physical condition
• have good communication skills
• complete the 12-week Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center at Glynco, Georgia or equivalent from an accredited course of instruction
PHYSICAL READINESS
Appointees are required to take and score in at least the minimum "fair" level for their age and gender group in the four areas of physical readiness as a condition of employment.
These areas are as follows:
• 1.5 mile run or the alternate 3-mile walk (cardiovascular) assessment
• a flexibility (trunk flexion) assessment
• a sit-up (trunk strength) assessment
• a push-up (upper body strength and endurance) assessment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
To be eligible for an entry-level special agent position, you must possess a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university, or 3 years of work experience in the Federal criminal investigative or law enforcement fields.
