Minimum Qualifications

 

Safety Coordinator works to improve the overall safety of the workplace. Duties include assessing safety, enforcing safety standards, and educating employees.


Essential Job Duties:
  • Establishes and oversees the health and safety processes for the organization and contracted clients taking into consideration industry regulations and the specific risks of each workplace

  • Visits new and existing clients to review safety of worksite, address any safety issues and create plan for fixing

  • Train employees on safety protocols and enforce if not being adhered to

  • Respond to workplace accidents, creating reports and determining ways to prevent similar accidents

  • Inspect, test, and evaluate workplace environments, equipment and practices to ensure they follow safety standards and government regulations

  • Prepare written reports of findings

  • Evaluate programs on workplace health and safety

  • Educate employers and workers about workplace safety by preparing and providing training programs

  • Demonstrate correct use of safety equipment

  • Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Spanish bilingual preferred

  • Reliable transportation and car insurance required

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Comfortable working in a variety of settings including warehouses, manufacturing companies, construction sites, and large office buildings

  • Familiarity with the tools, machines and equipment used in the workplace

  • Attention to detail

  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to teach others

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer literacy skills and comfortable with technology

  • Ability to work well with a team and interact with various groups of people
