Part-time Position 29.5 hours/week -10 months/year
SALARY RANGE: $27.22/hour to $33.10/hour in five annual steps
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general oversight of the Administrator, Student Services, and supervision of a credentialed school nurse, perform specialized health services for students in regular education and special education programs. Communicate with parents, school sites, and district personnel on health-related matters, assist with medical screening of students, disseminate health information, and provide emergency medical care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination equivalent to the following: High school graduation or equivalent and nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, or school environment, preferably including experience in dealing with preschool and school-age children.
LICENSES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed Vocational Nurse Certificate, Current CPR Certificate, Current First Aid Certificate, California Driver’s License. Certification will be updated and maintained.
THE EXAMINATION:
Candidates are required to have current LVN certification. Supplemental questions will be used to evaluate applicants’ training and experience. Applicants must attain a passing score of 80% on each part of the examinations and pass a pass/fail computer test to be placed on the eligibility list. Should a large pool of candidates pass a higher passing score than 80% may be required to progress.
