SALARY RANGE:
$25.64/hour to $31.17/hour in five annual steps

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Under general supervision, performs varied responsible clerical work involving thorough familiarity with policies, procedures, terminology, and applicable laws; maintains complex records and files requiring use of independent judgment and initiative; answers questions that may involve research; may handle a volume of calls and personal contacts from employees and the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination equivalent to completion of high school and two years of increasingly complex and varied office experience involving clerical procedures, records, and typing.
THE EXAMINATION:
Candidates may be examined on their knowledge of record-keeping, filing systems, and clerical procedures, checking for general, technical, and statistical activities; basic arithmetic, proper English grammar, spelling, public contact work; and the ability to understand and interpret information, follow directions, and work well with others.
