JOB SUMMARY:
This role performs a combination of both administrative and routine enrollment tasks related to the coordination and support of health access projects to ensure timely and effective project development and completion. In addition to enrollment functions this position also leads the Orange County Health Access & Enrollment Taskforce, Know Your Benefits Trainings, and Community Forums.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates program or project planning and implementation, including surfacing needs and monitoring progress of goals and objectives
Establishes project work plan and calendar/schedules; monitors, reviews, and evaluates progress
Coordinates and attends meetings representing CHIOC; establishes and maintains internal and external contacts as necessary
Monitors record keeping and file maintenance for the program or project
Prepares records of project activities; oversees and ensures the timely processing in and the delivery of required materials
Assists in training of enrollment team
Collaborates with other team members on various projects based on organizational need
Assists clients with enrollment and case management services
Participates in planning discussions and meetings and assists in developing tactical plans to support outreach, and enrollment
Leads and/or participates in outreach and community events/forums conducting Know Your Benefits Trainings
Lead coordinator for the OC Health Access and Enrollment Task Force, schedules, coordinates presenters and facilitates monthly collaborative meetings
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains professional behavior, dress, and appearance at all times
Meets all applicable safety requirements and work environment including prompt injury reporting
Organizes workload to meet project timelines and deadlines
Successfully completes a background check
Travels locally to training, community presentations, outreach and enrollment sites; reliable transportation required
Drives personal car on business and maintains personal car insurance
Travel by car or air outside the area for one or several days
Has good general knowledge of computer operations with a high degree of proficiency in MS Office
Able to use office equipment effectively including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Customer service experience
Bilingual Spanish/English
Knowledge and work experience with children’s and adult’s health and social service programs (Medi-Cal for Adults, Children and Pregnant Women, Covered California, Medicare, CalFresh, CalWORKs, WIC, etc.)
PREFFERED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education & experience
Knowledge of project planning methodologies
Certified Application Assistant Certification
Significant knowledge of health insurance programs
Significant knowledge of formulation/functioning of County/community-based organizations
Strong communications, leadership, and public speaking skills
Strong planning and organizational skills
Effective critical thinking and Problem-solving skills
