JOB SUMMARY:

The Vehicle Service Technician (VST) is responsible for ensuring that all ambulances are “response ready” for medical transport personnel, with the goal of reducing downtime and increasing the quality and delivery of services to internal and external customers.The delivered product is a clean vehicle inside and outside with well stocked shelves and functioning equipment. It is important that the product produced is maintained to the highest standard.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles, property, and equipment.

• Stock/re-stock supplies in ambulances according to minimum inventory standards.

• Ensure deep cycling of monitor batteries as required.

• Mechanical check vehicles, fluid, window washer fluid.

• Provide excellent customer service skills to both internal and external customers and clients.

• Ensure the workspace is clean and organized.

• Requisition supplies for replacement.

• Inform Supervisor of breakdowns and cause of equipment failure for repair.

• Perform light maintenance duties and complete minor repairs to stations or equipment. • Document condition of ambulance turned in and schedule ambulance preparedness for shift personnel.

• Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, etc.).

• Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work, (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).

• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lunges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, parking lots and other work areas.

• Wash ambulances prior to launch on a regular basis.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Must be professional and appropriately dressed at all times.

• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

• Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• An ability to work independently with little supervision
