JOB SUMMARY:
VasSecCo offers professional, personable, and effective cybersecurity consulting services for small to large businesses and government agencies. Their experts provide guidance to help clients meet and exceed their security framework compliance requirements and program goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Monitor security tools, systems, and alerts for signs of unauthorized access, data breaches, malware, vulnerable systems, and other security events
Log and analyze security event data to identify real threats and reduce false positives
Escalate critical security alerts and events per established incident response procedures • Create reports on security monitoring results, ongoing issues, and historical incident data
Develop and/or improve queries and dashboards to improve visibility into security tools and data
Document security events, incidents, and responses through detailed incident reports
Assist senior security team members in incident response and forensics
SKILLS DEVELOPED OVER WORK EXPERIENCE:
Monitor security tooks, systems, and alerts for signs of unauthorized access, data breaches, malware, vulnerable systems, and other security events
Create reports on security monitoring results, ongoing issues, and histroica incident data
Assist senior security team members in incident response and forensics analysis
Develop and/or improve queries and dashboards to improve visibility into security tools and data
Log and analyze security event data to identify real threats and reduce false positives
Fundamental knowledge of common cyberattack methods, security tools, TCP/IP, and OS internals
Familiarity with security event monitoring, SIEMs, firewalls, vulnerability scanning, and intrusion detection
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to obtain applicable security certifications, e.g., CompTIA Security+, within first three months
