Job Summary:

With a lot of sweat, equity, love, and a mission that resonates with the public, Monkey Business Café has become a fixture in the Fullerton community. Today, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, offer on-line ordering and catering. They also have a Monkey Business product line of seasonings and fresh treats using ingredients they harvest at the Fullerton Arboretum.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Greet and seat customers

  • Assure that customers receive menus, utensils and drinks delivered within 2 minutes of being seated

  • Take food orders and give table numbers

  • Deliver good customer service consistently

  • Check tables regularly for drinks, refills, and pre-bussing

  • Polish flatware

  • Deliver food to tables

  • Suggest additional food items/specials

  • Focus on customer needs

  • Cash and media handling

  • Communicate with Manager

  • Training and mentorship

Skills Developed Over Work Experience:

  • Customer service skills

  • ServSafe Food Handlers certificate training

  • POS system training

  • Restaurant day to day operations

  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety measures used in food handling and in the operation of cleaning and care of utensils, equipment, and work area

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, carrying, crawling, reaching, handing, pushing, and pulling

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time and withstand heat
