JOB SUMMARY:
The Welcome Center Intern is responsible for supporting the care and keeping of the welcome center, maintaining the cleanliness of and supplies, and operating the front desk to welcome walk-ins and refer walk-ins to the designated staff member. Additionally, supporting the center staff on routine and daily work to keep the center running smoothly.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Support Welcome Center staff in maintaining the center, and creating a welcoming environment
Assist in inventorying, sorting, and arranging supplies that are provided to those in need
Plan, prepare, and deliver different activities for walk-ins should such needs arise
Be prepared to assist in meeting the physical needs of walk-ins through coffee, snacks, hygiene items, etc.
Comfortable in answering the phone and dialoguing with those who call for help, providing referrals for needs and a sense of hope and connection for callers
Manage and maintain a healthy environment physically, socially, and emotionally
Participation in OC United meetings and events
Regular community engagement
Network with partners
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Excels in both oral and written communication
Proficient interpersonal relationship skills
Organized and timely
Flexible and adaptable
Conflict resolution skills
Proficient in basic computer platforms
Salesforce experience (preferred but not required)
Ability to work well with others
Fluent in Spanish (preferred but not required)

Monday - Friday: 9AM - 5PM
