JOB SUMMARY:

A staff person who assists children in activities designed to promote social/emotional, physical health and safety, and cognitive growth. Under the direction of the Teacher, Lead Teacher, and Program Specialist, assists with lessons for school-age children; assists the Teacher, Lead Teacher, and Program Specialists in planning programs and activities in the classroom and outside the environment; and performs related duties as required.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Plan and implement lesson plans for school-age children.

  • Oversee classroom and playground activities.

  • Teach, supervise, and instruct children.

  • Prepare, set up, and clean up at meal times.

  • Performs related duties as required.

  • Communicate effectively with children and their parents in teaching, informing, and interacting.

  • Plan a meal program that meets the nutritional requirements of pupils.

  • Observe and recognize behaviors or conditions in children that may indicate special attention or referral.

  • Demonstrate art, crafts, music, and physical activities at the level of the pupil.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and possess excellent customer service skills


REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of art, crafts, music, science, and concepts such as color and geometric shapes for teaching at the school-age level.

  • Leadership experience preferred.

  • To be considered for employment, they must intend to enroll in child development.

  • TB test, background check and drug test.

  • Plan a meal program that meets the nutritional requirements of pupils.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

Monday – Friday 6 am to 6 pm
