The City of Laguna Beach Public Works and Utilities Department is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a motivated and eager-to-learn individual to join our Engineering Team as an Engineering Intern! In this role, you will collaborate closely with our engineering staff and assist with a range of tasks that support the Engineering Division. We are seeking someone with strong analytical abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the capacity to work independently while showing initiative and creativity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), surveying, and AutoCAD drafting is highly desirable.
Schedule:
This position offers a flexible schedule of approximately 24 hours per week, year-round, with hours varying based on department needs.

Qualifications:
Any combination demonstrating the ability to effectively and successfully perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying. A typical combination is as follows: Education: Completion of, or current enrollment in, an accredited Bachelor's Degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related field. Experience: Prior work experience in municipal government, civil engineering, land surveying, or construction is desirable. Experience with AutoCAD, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and undergraduate level research is also desirable. License/Certificate Requirements: Due to the performance of some field duties, which may require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid California Driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
