Job Title: Administrative Analyst (Part-Time)

Employer: City of Laguna Beach

Location: Laguna Beach, CA

Pay Rate: $36.94 – $52.07/hour

Status: Part-Time


Job Summary: The Administrative Analyst will support the Public Works & Utilities Department. This role involves performing a wide range of professional, administrative, and analytical duties. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced public sector environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with contract and grant administration

  • Prepare City Council agenda reports

  • Maintain and update department software and systems

  • Support budget preparation and financial tracking

  • Conduct research, analyze data, and produce reports

  • Perform high-level administrative support tasks

  • Coordinate department records and ensure compliance


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field

  • At least two years of administrative or analytical experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Job Title: Crime Analyst

Employer: City of Laguna Beach

Location: Laguna Beach, CA

Pay Rate: $73,680 – $103,476/year + 5% additional pay (overtime exempt)

Status: Full-Time

Job Summary :The Crime Analyst supports the Laguna Beach Police Department by analyzing crime trends and producing data-driven reports. This role provides strategic insights that help improve policing efforts, deployment strategies, and resource allocation.


Responsibilities:

  • Collect, compile, and interpret crime data

  • Prepare crime bulletins, maps, and reports

  • Support investigations and patrol operations

  • Identify crime patterns and predictive trends

  • Work with law enforcement staff and external agencies

  • Maintain and update crime analysis software and databases


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field

  • Experience in statistical analysis or law enforcement preferred

  • Knowledge of GIS, crime mapping tools, and Microsoft Office

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
