Job Summary:
Code Ninjas help children ages 5 to 10 explore the worlds of coding, robotics, game design, 3D printing, circuitry, and more, through fun, hands-on activities. The After School Code Sensei will guide younger students through playful, hands-on activities or help older students dive into beginner friendly coding and robotics projects.
Essential Job Duties:
• Assist in leading after-school sessions for groups of 10-25 students, ages 5 and up
• Support other Sensei’s in delivering lessons on topics like coding, robotics, game design, 3D printing and circuitry
• Help manage classroom flow and maintain a positive, structured learning environment
• Engage with students to keep them focused, on-task, and supported during activities
• Reinforce key concepts from the curriculum through one-on-one and small group assistance
• Prepare materials before class and assist with clean-up after sessions
• Collaborate with the Center Director and co-Senseis to ensure sessions run smoothly
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Enjoy working with children
o Previous experience in babysitting, nannying, caring for siblings a plus
• Friendly, positive and energetic attitude
• Exposure to coding, STEAM, or early tech education a plus, but not required
• Live Scan and NDA required
Work Experience Skills Developed:
• Working knowledge of coding, robotics, game design, 3D printing and circuitry
• Support lead Sensei in delivering lessons
• Manage classroom flow and maintain a structured learning environment
• Keep students engaged and focused
• Provide one-on-one and small group assistance with daily lessons
Hours of Operation:
• Monday: 1:30 pm – 7:15 pm
• Tuesday – Friday: 2:30 pm – 7:15 pm
• Saturday: 9:45 am – 2:15 pm
• Shifts of 3-4 hours minimum required
