Job Summary:
Fortune Accounting & Tax Services seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Office Assistant to support day-to-day operations. This position offers hands-on experience in an office environment, with opportunities to gain exposure to accounting tools and professional communication. The ideal candidate is organized, punctual, and comfortable using a computer and phone.
Essential Job Duties:
Answer incoming phone calls and handle client communications in a professional manner.
Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and calendar events using internal tools.
Perform data entry and record-keeping using QuickBooks and related software systems.
Support the preparation of documents, filing, and organizing both digital and physical records.
Assist with bookkeeping tasks such as expense tracking, invoicing, and basic financial reporting.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and follow secure file management protocols.
Provide bilingual support during client interactions when applicable (English/Spanish or Farsi).
Coordinate with external partners, including the Franchise Tax Board, for compliance or administrative matters.
Work Experience Skills Developed:
Learn to answer calls professionally, take accurate messages, and respond to inquiries with clarity and courtesy.
Build confidence navigating a formal office setting, managing time, and working as part of a team.
Gain experience coordinating client appointments, scheduling meetings, and maintaining shared calendars.
Data management and financial development through QuickBooks, spreadsheets, and internal software systems.
Assist with expense tracking, document preparation, and basic accounting tasks.
Understand how to handle sensitive client information securely, organize digital and physical files, and manage record-keeping protocols.
Strengthen your ability to support both English and Spanish-speaking clients (if applicable), enhancing inclusive service experience.
Requirements
Must pass background check
Age 18+
Basic computer and typing skills
Comfortable speaking on the phone
Bilingual skills preferred, Spanish or Farsi
Hours of Operation:
Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
