OBJECTIVE:
Gain the knowledge to work in the Grocery Department on a day-to-day basis. This includes daily routine, stocking, merchandising, and customer service.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Greet customers, offer assistance with products and help to resolve issues
Gather carts scattered across the parking lot and bring them to the vestibule in the front of the store
Report to manager for specific directions
Cold go-backs – taking items no longer wanted by the customer back to the shelf before it goes bad
Face the store – Bring products forward to make the store presentable for the next day
Downstacking – Take product/freight off pallets in the backroom to a U-Boat to be wheeled to the sales floor to be stocked
Stocking – Use a printer and scanner to make labels for new product. Place product on the shelf by creating space and keeping like items together
Check shelves for damaged or expired items and give to the manager to dispose of properly
Help maintain the cleanliness of the store
Other duties as assigned
