Job Summary:
The Freighter role involves performing physical labor efficiently to support store operations. Responsibilities include receiving shipments, unloading delivery trucks, and ensuring products are stocked, organized, and ready for sale. While Freighters have limited direct customer interaction, maintaining a friendly and professional attitude while on the floor is essential.
Essential Job Duties:
Move products from pallets to carts and onto the sales floor
Lift boxes of product safely and efficiently
Place opened boxes in the baler for recycling
Set up and organize product displays for the next business day
Condense shelf space and open crates for display
Use box cutters to open and prep merchandise
Stock both high and low shelves (requires ladder use and bending)
Ensure correct price tags are applied to all items
Assist with cashier duties during busy periods or when needed
Support store operations by:
Allowing customers access to the restroom
Assisting elderly customers with carts or to their vehicles
Collecting shopping carts (“cart runs”)
Cleaning spills and maintaining a safe work environment
Requirements & Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. safely and regularly
Must be able to stand and move for extended periods
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Skills Developed:
Set up and organize product displays for the next business day
Ensure correct price tags are applied to all items
Move products from pallets to carts and onto the sales floor
Customer service and teamwork
Various store operations
