Job Summary:
The Specialist will support the OC Free Tax Prep program by assisting with outreach coordination, volunteer engagement, and administrative tasks. This role includes preparing materials, updating data systems, and providing customer support. Participants will gain real-world nonprofit experience and transferable skills in office operations, communications, and event support.
Essential Job Duties:
• Assist in volunteer recruitment and training coordination.
• Prepare and distribute outreach materials for tax preparation events.
• Maintain accurate records in spreadsheets and tracking systems.
• Respond to inquiries and provide general customer service support.
• Perform administrative tasks such as data entry and filing.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Spanish bilingual a plus, not required.
Work Experience Skills Developed:
• Strengthen communication and customer service in a professional setting.
• Gain experience supporting community outreach and public engagement.
• Build skills in event planning and coordination.
• Learn document and spreadsheet management (Excel, Google Sheets).
• Develop time management and reliability in a structured office environment
Hours of Operation:
• Hybrid Schedule
• In-Person: Tuesday–Thursday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Remote: Friday (unless a tax event is scheduled)
• Occasional Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (as needed)
Some schedule flexibility is available upon request.
