Job Summary: Project Kinship’s Receptionist will support daily front desk operations and participant services. This opportunity provides hands-on training in customer service, office administration, communication, and data entry within a nonprofit environment. Participants will gain practical experience assisting visitors, supporting staff, maintaining records, and learning professional office procedures while developing skills applicable to administrative and customer service careers.
Essential Job Duties:
• Welcome participants, visitors, and community partners in a professional and courteous manner.
• Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls and emails.
• Assist with visitor check-in procedures and maintain front desk records.
• Support data entry, document preparation, filing, and administrative tasks.
• Provide information regarding available programs and services.
• Assist participants with basic forms, referrals, and general office support.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling participant and organizational information.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
• Collaborate with staff to support daily office operations and participant engagement.
• Follow agency protocols for crisis response, incident reporting, and emergency situations.
• Collaborate with program staff to address participant concerns, conflicts, and behavioral issues.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Must meet Project Kinship's background requirements* (no violent felony or arson-related convictions).
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to communicate professionally with the public.
• Basic computer and typing skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment.

• Telephone etiquette, call routing, and professional email communication
• Participant intake, service navigation, and referral assistance
• Data entry, electronic recordkeeping, and document management
• Confidential handling of participant information and office records
• Microsoft Office and office technology proficiency
• Trauma-informed customer service and professional communication
• De-escalation techniques and conflict resolution in a public-facing environment
• Time management, organization, and multitasking in a fast-paced office
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a nonprofit setting
• Maintenance of professional boundaries while building positive working relationships
Hours of Operation:
• Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• In Office
